John Frederick Ricketts |
John Frederick Ricketts was my fourth great grandfather. He was the son of William Ricketts and Mary Catherine Ricketts. He was named in his father William Ricketts' will that was proved June 20, 1765. We don't know when John Frederick Ricketts was born, when he died, or who he married. By the 1765 will of his father, John Frederick Ricketts received 190 acres of land at the Head of Sandy River. He sold this land for only 20 pounds to Samuel Shumate in 1787. In his will, William Ricketts also named a grandson who had his same name (William Ricketts). The grandson was apparently the son of John Frederick Ricketts. The grandson William received the estate lands in the will. |
